Samsung has released the Galaxy Gear, a smartwatch with gesture-based interface. It is currently compatible with only the latest Galaxy Note 10.1 edition and the Galaxy Note 3 phablet. The South Korean company promises that upcoming software upgrades will make the smartwatch compatible with earlier devices, including the Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S3 and Galaxy S4.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear has a built-in calling feature allowing users to make and answer voice calls through Bluetooth connection to the paired smartphone. There’s a 1.63-inch (320 x 320) Super AMOLED display with customizable interface. The camera can capture photos in two 1280 x 720 and 640 x 640 resolution, as well as 720p videos.
