LG has introduced the G Watch R with its circular design on Thursday. The Korea-based manufacturer will soon release additional details of its watch, possibly including pricing. However, LG Germany has confirmed pricing for the country and it will hit the shelves for EUR 299 by October. The G Watch R is an upgrade to the original G Watch, which is currently sold at EUR 199 and $229.
The G Watch R is also more expensive than the earlier Samsung Gear Live, with its initial price tag at EUR 199 and $199. The Motorola Moto 360 was listed briefly at $249.99 and more definite pricing information will be revealed in September 4.
LG confirmed that the G Watch R will be available widely in the market in Q4 this year. It’s equipped with 1.3-inch circular display and P-OLED panel. It’s the same technology used by the LG G Flex. The display should also quite sharp with its 360 x 360 screen resolution. It is supported by calf skin leather strap and stainless steel frame. Initially, the watch will be available in Black color option only. The Android Wear operating system is driven by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, downclocked to 1.2GHz and 512MB of RAM. There are also 410mAh battery and 4GB of internal storage.
