Pebble Steel Smartwatch Review

Pebble Steel SmartwatchFor some Kickstarter investors, this could be one of the best days of their lives. The Pebble smartwatch is one of the most popular and successful projects in the Kickstarter. The $249 Pebble Steel is the company’s biggest move yet and it looks like a decent improvement of the classic Pebble, current available for $150.

Feature-wise, the Steel has plenty of similarities with the original Pebble, such as near one-week of battery life, 4-button interface, monochrome E-ink display and apps. It can also talk to Android and iOS devices via official mobile apps over Bluetooth connection. Users could also manage small bits of information, such as emails, text messages and notifications of incoming calls – on their wrist.

However, the new watch is now ensconced in a metal case, which is waterproofed to 5 atm and it is also protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass. There are two options of bands, a sportier model with metal links and a dressy model with leather.

In short, Pebble smartwatches are an interesting work in progress. They are fun and handy to use, even the original model is a deal with its $150 price tag.
