HP is Working on an Exquisitely-Designed Smartwatch Model
HP has been working with Michael Bastian, a designer and Gilt, a fashion flash sales site to develop new smartwatch model. The new wearable device isn’t another Android Wear model and it could run with a custom-built software platform. However, it should come with companion apps that work with either Android or iOS devices.
It should still be able to push phone calls, text notices and email message from smartphones. Other features are updates on stock price, sports and weather. Bastian says that the smartwatch will have design cues from typical luxury cars, especially their interior features like the trim and dashboard.
Although the smartwatch could be more intelligent than more basic models, like the Martian Notifier; it could also be slightly dumbed down compared to latest models released by Samsung and LG. There’s no information about its display, but the watchface could have a 44mm circular shape with different straps options, such as black rubber, green nylon and brown leather. Despite their potentials, smartwatches are still considered niche models that won’t appeal to users who don’t want to spend more than $300 for the ability to see notifications on the wrist.
